Ausar Thompson and the Detroit Pistons host the Chicago Bulls today as 5.5-point favorites, with a total set at 223.5.
This marks the second of four meetings between these Central Division rivals. In their first matchup, Thompson was sidelined, and Detroit fell 122-112 at home.
Thompson is poised to make a significant impact this time, though, given that he’s taking 53% of his shot attempts at the rim. That’s noteworthy because Chicago surrenders the second most shot attempts at the rim and is allowing opponents to sink 67.5% of those looks, which ranks them 25th. I expect Thompson to find quality shots for all four quarters.
Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections have Thompson scoring 12 points. With his prop line set at 9.5, there’s clear value in taking the over.

James Harden M/L Than 23.5 Points
The 35-year-old James Harden has been on a tear lately, playing well enough to earn his 11th All-Star selection in 16 seasons.
This year, he’s averaging 21.5 points per game, though that dipped to 20.6 in February. Despite this, his points prop sits slightly above his season average—likely due to the matchup against Toronto. The Raptors’ defense has struggled overall, ranking 24th in points per 100 possessions allowed, but they’ve been solid against mid-range shots. They allow opponents to take just 27.2% of their attempts from mid-range (7th) and hold them to 42.6% shooting (12th).
Oddly enough, despite his inclusion to the All-Star game – he’s posting one of his worst effective field goal percentages of his career: 49%. It appears like he may be overperforming, leading to an inflated points prop in this matchup.
With Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections pegging him for around 20 points, this looks like a good spot to fade the veteran against an opponent that defends one of his preferred shot locations well.
