The Philadelphia Eagles opened as 8.5-point favorites over the New York Giants for their NFC Divisional Round playoff game on Saturday night, per DraftKings. The early Eagles-Giants odds came out after New York defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-24 in the NFC Wild Card Round on Sunday.

Giants at Eagles, Saturday 8:15 p.m. ET
It will be the third game between the NFC East rivals this season. Philadelphia won 48-22 as 7-point favorites at New York in NFL Week 14, and 22-16 at home as 16-point favorites in NFL Week 18. The Giants could not have changed their playoff seeding in that regular-season finale and rested several key players, including quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley.
That game also was the first for Eagles QB Jalen Hurts after he missed two with a shoulder injury. Afterward, Philadelphia coach Nick Sirianni said Hurts “was hurting bad.”
“I’m feeling better,” Hurts told the Eagles website during the week. “It’s a day-by-day thing. Just taking it day by day. I think the whole world knows that I’m dealing with something, that I’ve been dealing with something. I think the whole point of that game (against the Giants) was coming back and getting done what we needed to get done and obviously getting some time to rest, so here it is.”
The win against the Vikings was the Giants’ third since NFL Week 10. It also was their first playoff win since they defeated the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl after the 2011 season.
“I think we’ve had some of our better games recently and found some stuff that works for us,” Jones said, according to The Associated Press. “So we’ll keep doing it.”
Jones became the first quarterback in NFL playoff history to have 300-plus ing yards, two-plus ing touchdowns and 70-plus rushing yards.
The Eagles, the NFC East winner and No. 1 seed in the conference, started 8-0 and 13-1 before Hurts was injured and they lost two in a row with Gardner Minshew at quarterback. The Giants were third in the division, behind the Dallas Cowboys, and are the No. 6 seed.
It will be the second NFL playoff game, the first at home, for Hurts. He and the Eagles lost 31-15 at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season in the NFC Wild Card Round, a game they trailed 31-0 entering the fourth quarter.
“We have to be unwavering and diligent in this whole entire process,” Hurts said. “We have to be the same, approach it the same. We’ve been a team that has focused on getting better every day this whole entire time, so nothing changes now.”

The No. 2 seed San Francisco 49ers defeated the No. 7 Seattle Seahawks 41-23 on Saturday and will play the winner of the game Monday Night between the No. 5 Cowboys at No. 4 Buccaneers.
